Viada Latvia: How Automated ADUS Stations Offer the Cheapest Fuel
Viada's automated ADUS stations offer diesel at 1.967 €/L - far below every competitor. A complete guide to Viada Latvia, ADUS vs DUS, and how to save money.
The Lithuanian Chain That Competes on Price
Viada is a Lithuanian fuel station chain that operates in Latvia alongside the better-known Circle K, Virši and Neste. It is not the largest network in the country, but it has something none of its competitors can match: automated unmanned stations (ADUS) where fuel prices are dramatically lower than anywhere else on the Latvian market.
Understanding the ADUS model is the key to understanding Viada - and to saving a meaningful amount of money every time you fill up.
The Two Types of Viada Station
Viada operates two distinct types of station in Latvia, and they are not interchangeable.
Viada DUS (darbinieku uzpildes stacija - staffed station) operates like a conventional fuel station. There is staff on site, a shop, and normal service. Prices at DUS are standard for the market. Diesel is 2.124 €/L, and E85 bioethanol fuel is available here. Loyalty cards are accepted at DUS stations.
Viada ADUS (automatizētā uzpildes stacija - automated station) is unstaffed and operates entirely via card payment at the pump. There is no shop, no cashier, and no one to ask for help. But the trade-off is significant: ADUS prices are far below any manned station in Latvia.
ADUS Prices vs the Competition
As of April 2026, the price difference is striking:
| Fuel | Viada ADUS | Market Average | Saving vs Average |
|---|---|---|---|
| Diesel | 1.967 €/L | 2.131 €/L | -0.164 €/L |
| Petrol 95 | 1.727 €/L | 1.813 €/L | -0.086 €/L |
| Petrol 98 | 1.832 €/L | 1.887 €/L | -0.055 €/L |
| LPG | 0.985 €/L | ~1.085 €/L | -0.100 €/L |
Diesel at Viada ADUS is 0.164 €/L cheaper than the market average. For a 50-litre diesel fill, that is a saving of €8.20 compared to the market average, or approximately €9.35 compared to Virši’s diesel price of 2.147 €/L.
If you fill up twice a week with a 50-litre tank, using Viada ADUS instead of the market average saves you around €854 per year. These are not trivial numbers.
How ADUS Works in Practice
Using a Viada ADUS station is straightforward, but there are a few things to know before your first visit.
You must pay by card - debit or credit card only. The pump will prompt you to insert your card, authorize a pre-authorization hold, select your fuel and nozzle, fill up, and the actual amount is then charged. The hold amount is released automatically.
There is no staff on site, so if there is a technical problem with the pump or your card is not accepted, you will need to contact Viada’s customer line or simply move on to another station. For most drivers, this is rarely an issue, but it is worth keeping in mind.
Importantly, loyalty cards are not accepted at ADUS stations. This applies to all loyalty programmes - Circle K EXTRA, Virši Club, the Neste app, and Viada’s own schemes. If you want to earn points, you must use a Viada DUS manned station or another chain.
E85 at Viada DUS
Viada DUS manned stations offer E85 - a high-ethanol fuel blend (85% ethanol, 15% petrol) compatible with flex-fuel vehicles. E85 is priced at 1.959 €/L. In Latvia, E85 availability is limited, and Viada DUS is one of the few places you can reliably find it. If you drive a flex-fuel vehicle, this is a significant reason to have Viada DUS in your station rotation.
LPG at the Cheapest Rate in the Market
Viada ADUS also offers LPG at 0.985 €/L, which is 0.100 €/L cheaper than Circle K and Virši’s LPG price of 1.085 €/L. For an LPG-converted car with a 40-litre LPG tank, that is a saving of €4 per fill.
Verdict
For budget-focused drivers, Viada ADUS is the clear winner in the Latvian fuel market. The savings over any manned station are substantial and consistent. The trade-off - no staff, no loyalty card, card payment only - is minor for most drivers. Make sure you have a working payment card, and consider keeping Viada ADUS locations bookmarked in your navigation app for regular fill-ups.
If you need staff on site, want E85, or are driving a flex-fuel vehicle, Viada DUS manned stations are the place to go within the Viada network.
