Neste Latvia: Cheapest Diesel, Renewable Fuel and the Neste App
Neste Latvia offers the cheapest standard diesel among the big three chains, plus HVO renewable diesel and the Neste app loyalty program. Full station guide.
The Finnish Chain With a Green Edge
Neste is a Finnish company with a long history in oil refining, but in recent years it has positioned itself globally as a leader in renewable fuels. In Latvia, Neste operates a network of stations that may be smaller in footprint than Circle K, but competes effectively on two fronts: standard diesel price and the availability of HVO renewable diesel.
For the everyday Latvian driver, Neste’s most immediate appeal is straightforward - it has the cheapest standard diesel among the three major chains (Circle K, Virši, Neste), and it offers a well-designed loyalty app.
Current Prices
As of April 2026, Neste Latvia’s prices look like this:
| Fuel | Neste | Market Average |
|---|---|---|
| Diesel | 2.117 €/L | 2.131 €/L |
| Petrol 95 | 1.827 €/L | 1.813 €/L |
| Petrol 98 | 1.897 €/L | 1.887 €/L |
| Pro Diesel (premium) | 2.247 €/L | - |
| HVO Renewable Diesel | 2.590 €/L | - |
Neste’s standard diesel at 2.117 €/L is the lowest among the big three chains and sits below the market average of 2.131. For a driver filling a 60-litre diesel tank, that is a saving of about €0.84 versus the market average - modest per visit, but it adds up across a year of regular driving. Note that Viada ADUS automated stations are still significantly cheaper at 1.967 €/L for diesel, but Neste is the best option among full-service manned stations.
The Neste Futura Range
Neste’s standard fuel line is called Neste Futura, covering diesel, petrol 95, and petrol 98. These are conventional hydrocarbon fuels meeting European specifications. For most drivers, Neste Futura is what goes into the tank on a normal day.
Pro Diesel: The Premium Option
Neste Pro Diesel is the chain’s premium diesel, priced at 2.247 €/L - 0.130 €/L above standard diesel. Pro Diesel contains a higher concentration of deposit-removing additives, which can benefit older diesel engines with accumulated injector deposits, or newer engines where the owner wants to maintain long-term cleanliness. For most modern cars serviced on schedule, the standard Futura diesel is perfectly adequate.
HVO Renewable Diesel: The Sustainability Case
Neste MY Renewable Diesel - marketed in Latvia as HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil) - is where Neste genuinely stands apart from every other chain in the country. At 2.590 €/L, it is considerably more expensive than standard diesel, but it is a chemically different product with a meaningfully different environmental profile.
HVO is produced from waste animal fats and vegetable oils rather than crude oil. The combustion emissions profile is similar to conventional diesel, but the lifecycle carbon footprint is substantially lower - Neste claims up to 90% lower greenhouse gas emissions on a well-to-wheel basis compared to fossil diesel, depending on the feedstock used. It is compatible with any diesel engine without modification and meets EN 15940 standards.
For fleet operators with sustainability reporting requirements, company car drivers whose employers track carbon emissions, or environmentally-conscious private drivers, HVO at Neste is the only widely available option in Latvia today. The 0.473 €/L premium over standard diesel is the price of that environmental benefit.
The Neste App
The Neste app is the chain’s digital loyalty and customer solution. It offers per-litre discounts that are periodically updated, digital receipts for business users, and notifications about promotions. The app also sometimes offers Pro Diesel at a reduced price compared to the listed pump price.
Compared to Circle K EXTRA, the Neste app is a smaller ecosystem - the Neste network in Latvia is less extensive - but the functionality is solid and the discounts are real.
Who Should Use Neste?
Neste is the strongest choice for two types of drivers. The first is the price-conscious diesel driver who wants the cheapest standard diesel at a manned, full-service station - Neste consistently comes in below Virši and Circle K on standard diesel. The second is the eco-conscious driver or fleet operator who wants to reduce their vehicle’s carbon footprint: Neste MY Renewable Diesel is unique in the Latvian market.
Petrol drivers will find Neste’s prices slightly above the market average, so it is less compelling for petrol cars. And if absolute lowest price is the goal regardless of service level, Viada ADUS still wins on diesel.
Verdict
Neste earns a strong recommendation for diesel drivers who want either the lowest manned-station price or the most sustainable fuel option. The Neste app adds genuine value, and the HVO offering is a real differentiator. The station network is smaller than Circle K’s, but coverage across main routes is solid.
