Fuel Loyalty Cards in Latvia: Circle K, Virši, Neste and Viada Compared

A practical comparison of fuel loyalty programmes in Latvia - Circle K EXTRA, Virši Club, the Neste app and Viada - so you can choose the scheme that saves you most.

Why Loyalty Programmes Matter at the Pump

A loyalty programme at a fuel station is one of the few ways a regular driver can consistently pay less per litre than the posted pump price. Over the course of a year, even a 0.03 €/L average saving on every fill adds up to roughly €22 for a driver doing 15,000 km per year in a car averaging 6 L/100 km. The best programmes do better than that. The question is which one delivers most value for your specific driving habits.

Here is how the four main Latvian fuel loyalty programmes compare.

Circle K EXTRA

Circle K EXTRA is Circle K’s digital loyalty program, available through the Circle K app on iOS and Android. It is the most widely used fuel loyalty programme in Latvia, partly because Circle K has the largest station network - 60-plus stations - and partly because the programme is genuinely well-designed.

The core benefit is per-litre discounts. Circle K EXTRA offers cents off per litre that can change with promotions, but a consistent baseline saving is available to active members. The app also tracks your fill history and generates digital receipts, which is useful for business drivers managing fuel expenses.

Beyond the per-litre saving, Circle K EXTRA periodically offers free coffee after a certain number of fills, car wash vouchers, and partner retail discounts. Promotions arrive as push notifications, so it is worth having notifications enabled if you want to catch short-window deals.

Crucially, Circle K EXTRA works across all Circle K stations in Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania. Baltic-wide validity means your loyalty balance is useful wherever you are travelling in the region.

Best for: drivers who fill up frequently across Latvia’s main routes, business drivers who need digital receipts, and those who appreciate partner perks alongside fuel savings.

Virši Club

Virši Club is a points-based programme linked to a physical card, though digital registration is also available. You earn points with every fill-up and at Virši shop purchases, and points are redeemable against future fuel or food and drink purchases at the station.

The Virši Club occasionally unlocks member-only fuel price promotions, particularly around national holidays or seasonal campaigns. Points accumulate reasonably quickly for regular customers, and the redemption rate is transparent.

The programme is more old-fashioned in approach than Circle K’s app-first system - it was designed around a physical card and has been updated rather than rebuilt for mobile. It functions reliably, but the user experience is less polished than Circle K EXTRA or the Neste app.

Virši Club is most valuable for drivers who specifically need CNG or LPG, since Virši is the only chain offering both. If you are already choosing Virši for the CNG access, the loyalty card adds incremental savings on each visit.

Best for: CNG and LPG drivers, drivers who prefer Latvian-owned businesses, and Virši regulars who want to earn on every purchase.

Neste app

The Neste app is Neste’s digital loyalty solution, simpler in scope than Circle K EXTRA but genuinely functional. The app offers per-litre discounts on fuel, digital receipts, and periodic campaign discounts. One notable feature is that the Neste app sometimes offers Pro Diesel at a reduced price versus the posted pump price - for drivers who already use Pro Diesel, this can make the premium additive fuel more cost-competitive.

The Neste network in Latvia is smaller than Circle K’s, so the geographical reach of the Neste app is more limited. If you live or work near a Neste station, the app is worth having. If Neste stations are out of your regular route, the programme has less practical value.

Best for: Neste regulars, eco-conscious drivers using HVO renewable diesel who want to track their usage, and business drivers who want digital receipts.

Viada - The Critical Caveat

Viada’s loyalty programme exists, but comes with an important limitation that every driver should know before they visit.

Loyalty cards of any kind are not accepted at Viada ADUS (automated) stations. This applies to Viada’s own scheme and to every other programme. ADUS stations are fully automated - card payment only, no staff, and no loyalty card processing at the terminal.

Loyalty cards work only at Viada DUS manned stations, where prices are at standard market levels (diesel 2.124 €/L). Since the primary reason to visit Viada is the ADUS price advantage - diesel at 1.967 €/L - accepting that you will not earn loyalty points is a straightforward trade-off. The price saving at ADUS is larger than what any loyalty programme returns per litre.

Best for: Viada DUS regulars who want incremental point earning at manned stations, but not relevant for ADUS visits.

Verdict

For most Latvian drivers, Circle K EXTRA delivers the best combination of consistent per-litre savings, wide station coverage, digital convenience, and Baltic-wide validity. If you split your fills between chains, Circle K EXTRA and the Neste app together cover the most ground.

If your primary goal is the lowest possible pump price, use Viada ADUS - and accept that no loyalty card applies there. The savings dwarf what any loyalty programme returns.
